Nestled among the high peaks of the Southern Alps Queenstown is New Zealands adventure capital. Find a variety of activities both summer and winter. From skiing and snowboarding, to paragliding and skydiving, or experience the world's first ever bungy jump site, Queenstown has it all for those who want action. For all those who like it a little slower check out the golf course or have a game of lawn bowls in the beautiful surroundings of the Botanical Gardens. Or go on a cruise around the lake on an old fashioned paddle boat. So for young and old Queenstown has something for everyone, a top spot for a holiday.
There are 2 main ski areas in Queenstown The Remarkables and Coronet Peak, both having different features for any level of skier or boarder. The Remarkables has one of the best Snow Parks that I have had the privilege of riding, and and it also has some really good off piste / back country runs that dont require too much of a hike. The most acesable of these is called Homeward bound which you can find if you take a right from the Alta chair and follow the traverse over a small ridge, which opens up to a massive powder field.
Coronet Peak has some amazing facilities, fast chairs and a brand new base building it is a must for all who visit Queenstown. There are a lot more runs to choose from on CP and the terrain is extremely fun. There is also 2 snow parks plus a halfpipe.
So for all you snow Junkies get yourself some of the good stuff next southern hemisphere winter at Queenstown.
